Workshop

Paris McNeil

Part of personal branding videography

A short film with Paris McNeil, from a team session she facilitated.

The job

Paris McNeil is a keynote speaker and workshop facilitator in Perth. Her wider work is with schools and organisations, helping people make sense of technology, communication, and the distance that opens up between generations, and she is good at turning a complicated subject into a conversation a room can use. This film is the workplace side of that. She describes herself as being in the business of helping people think differently about the disruptions in front of them. The session we filmed is about how one team talks, the different styles sitting around the table, and the small number of things they can take back and actually change.

The people in the room say they do not get together like this very often, and that Paris was the one who made the space for it. She ran a game as the facilitator, and they came out surprised that the fun had been the useful part. They talk about learning something about themselves and about the person next to them, and about leaving with a clearer picture of how the team communicates, plus a few changes they could go and make. One of them puts the whole afternoon in a sentence. She knew what she was doing, and she gave them a conversation they had been putting off.

What we did

One short film from a team session.

01

Paris on coming into an organisation and helping people think differently about the work in front of them.

02

The room on communication styles, and on the practical things they could take back to work.

03

A game, some unexpected fun, and a conversation the team does not usually make time for.

The work

A short film for Paris McNeil. She speaks and runs workshops for schools and organisations, and this cut stays with one team so you can see how she actually works a room. She opens the session, puts them through a game, and leaves them with a better read on how they work together and a few things they can use the following week.
