Event Coverage

Attadale Bombers

Part of event video production

An anniversary film for Attadale Bombers Junior Football Club, and a highlight from a life member's night.

The job

Attadale Bombers is a junior football club at Troy Park in Attadale. It has been there since 1953, volunteer-run and not-for-profit, for girls and boys from Auskick through the junior years. The anniversary film was made so that story could be told by the people who coach, volunteer and bring their kids down on a Sunday. A date on a website can say 1953. It cannot show a Sunday morning, or the people who keep the place running. The film spends its time on the volunteers and the families, and on girls' football becoming part of the club. People in it talk about a club that grew past the local families it started with, and about the club as a way back into Attadale. It is a record the club can keep, play at a presentation, or send to a family that is thinking about joining.

Party highlight

This cut is the night Steve was made a life member. Speakers thank him for years of voluntary work and talk about the culture of the club. It is a short film on purpose, so the club can play it on the night and share it afterwards, apart from the anniversary film. The longer film is the history of the club. This one is one person, and one night, so it can stand on its own.

The story

The longer film is about a community club at Troy Park. Treasurer Andrew Smith talks about new club rooms still a couple of seasons away, and about a space being rebuilt for boys and girls. Coaches and past players are in it, including people who stayed on to volunteer. The picture it leaves is a Sunday morning at the club, and the kids.

Andrew talks about club rooms that are still a couple of seasons away. The film does not pretend they are built. It shows the club as it is: coaches, past players who stayed to volunteer, and the kids on a Sunday. That is the picture a new family can watch before they turn up at Troy Park.

What we did

02

Cut a separate highlight of the life member night.

03
